What is it about?
Sometimes, the hardest part of becoming a parent is keeping a straight face...
Just ask Jamie and Laura Newman, who (thanks to a rather relaxed attitude to contraception) find themselves about to have a baby. It's obviously a terrifying prospect for a newly married couple, but as long as they stick together they'll be just fine... right?
They'd better because the path between falling in love and those first few baby steps is littered with obstacles. Featuring a hilarious cast of characters including an overbearing mother-in-law, a terrifying midwife and at least one chorus of mating humpback whales, Love... And Sleepless Nights is the hilarious follow up novel all about what happens beyond the happy ever after.
Falling in love with another person is easy, making a new one is where things get complicated. (Warning: Explicit content
My opinion: Before I bought this book I didn't realized it was a continued chronicles of both of the main character from the book Love... from Both Sides. However, I don't have any problem understanding the story and it did not make me feel like I have miss out anything from the first book, as you know most books with a series tend to do.
This book is a chill-out kind of book and really easy to enjoy even if you don't like reading very much. When I was in high school this is the book which was borrowed by my schoolmates the most! There were the time I did't see this book for months because it was passed from one people to another.
What makes it enjoyable is because it was so funny and cheesy! The language used is easy to understand with a few bombastic words here and there (ehem unlike a certain book by John Green). Both main character were silly and oblivious which makes the story enjoyable. I laugh from cover to cover!
"To me (and anyone else not drinking) she looks like a mental patient trying to fuck a lamp post.”
Both main character were silly and oblivious which makes the story enjoyable. I laugh from cover to cover! There was never a dull moment while reading this book and I still find myself rereading a few pages for a good laugh. While this book have a great sense of humor, it doesn't offer you any other emotion. It is purely for laugh. I am not mad about the ending although it is expected. This book is hard to find though, I never seen this book at any bookstore since I purchased it few years ago.
Who will enjoy this book?
Anyone who are looking for a good laugh or a light entertainment book. This book is made for you.
Who will not enjoy this book?
If you expect more from this book you will be disappointed because it does not offer anything else other than humor.
Rating: I give this book 4/ ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
